A Vision of France with iPhone

Ah, France, you never seem to disappoint. I took a road/train/bicycle trip throughout the country. Alongside me, was my trusty iPhone. Inside me was wanderlust. And around me, was unparalleled beauty. Below is a small collection of images to highlight the architecture, culture, nature and sport in the area - all images were captured in Apple ProRAW.

Alaska and British Columbia with National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions

Southeast Alaska’s Inside Passage is teeming with wildlife, glaciers and natural beauty. And adjacent British Columbia, specifically Alert Bay and Haida Gwaii, are remarkable places to interact with First Nations People and learn about their rich heritage and culture. For three weeks in the fall, I was teaching photography aboard the National Geographic Sea Bird throughout those regions. Below are a few images that I made along the journey.

Scotland - The Highlands, Caledonian Canal and Hebrides with National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions

Almost 200 years ago, engineers built The Caledonian Canal, a man-made canal that connects five natural lakes and spans Scotland from Inverness (in the east), to Corpach (in the west). Sailing the canal offers a wonderful opportunity to learn about the Scottish Highlands. And on the west coast, the mouth of the canal offers access to some of the the Inner Hebridean Islands. For three weeks, I traveled on a small ship, Lord of the Glens, and traversed this area to explore the landscape, culture and history. Our journey ultimately ended in Edinburgh with a chance to see its amazing architecture and witness the annual Military Tattoo. Here are a few images that I made along the way.

The Mekong River with National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions

Life along the Mekong River is fascinating. For three weeks, I traveled from Siem Reap, Cambodia to My Tho, Vietnam aboard The Jahan with National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions. Each day, I visited small local villages and communities to learn about the region's storied past, explore the vast landscape and experience unique cultural aspects. A few highlights include - riding through the countryside in an ox cart, learning how to make rice paper and rattan mats, buying local fish and produce from a floating market and sampling the wondrous amounts of fresh food. A few images chronicling the journey are below.
